Adam Katz, DScPAS, MPAS, PA-C
Senior Director of Advanced Practice Provider (APP) Services and the Critical Care APP Program
Adam Katz holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology and health studies from Springfield College. He has a Doctor of Science and Master’s degree in physician assistant studies from Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences University. Adam has been working in critical care as an advanced practice provider (APP) since 2009 and in his administrative role since 2015.
He has achieved a fair amount over his short career, including completing a physician assistant critical care residency program in 2010. After his residency program, Adam took a full-time APP position within the Critical Care Department. Shortly after working as an APP, Adam was tasked with working as the Assistant Critical Care APP Residency Program Director and New-Hire Coordinator at UMass Memorial Health. The organizational and administrative skills developed in these prior roles formed the foundation for Adam’s transition into his current position as Senior Director, APP Services and Critical Care APP Program.
Adam has been a member of the UMass Memorial Medical Staff Executive Committee, Co-Chair of the APP Credentialing Committee, and a participant on the Provider Planning Pool Committee throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. He is interested in continuing to work with the critical care population while collaborating with clinical operations to improve patient quality and safety metrics.
