Our sleep medicine providers can help you get the good night’s rest you deserve.

Accredited Sleep Medicine Services

UMass Memorial Medical Center is accredited by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine. We are a designated provider of the Accredited Sleep Technologist Education Program, one of a few sites nationwide.

Sleep Disorders Treatments and Services

The sleep medicine experts at UMass Memorial offer a range of treatments for sleep disorders. We even offer unattended portable home sleep testing for people who meet certain criteria. This sleep test kit can allow you to complete your diagnostic sleep testing in the comfort of your home.

Behavior Modification Instructions for Insomnia

Our sleep medicine experts can help you change your behavior to promote healthy sleep habits. These include lifestyle changes like creating a relaxing bedtime routine, establishing a regular sleep schedule, and avoiding caffeine and electronics before bed.

Chronotherapy and Light Therapy for Circadian Rhythm Disorders

Chronotherapy helps reset your internal clock using carefully timed light exposure through light therapy. Patients have regular sessions with a bright light box that mimics sunlight and helps regulate the sleep-wake cycle.

Treatments for Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA)

We offer several treatments for OSA. Your team works with you to find the treatment that fits your needs and lifestyle:

  • Airway machines: You may get a specialized machine, like continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP), bilevel positive airway pressure (BiPAP) and adaptive servo-ventilation (ASV). These machines use gentle air pressure to keep your airway open during sleep.
  • Dental appliances: These appliances, including custom-fitted mouthpieces, may also help you get better sleep.
  • CPAP Mask Clinic: Our Medical Center offers a CPAP Mask Clinic. We help patients who use a CPAP mask and have problems that aren’t solved by a home care respiratory therapist. For more information about this clinic, call 508-793-4950.
  • Inspire: This alternative treatment for OSA is an implantable device that gently stimulates your tongue muscle to improve airflow while you sleep. We implant Inspire during a same-day outpatient procedure. It’s available for qualified patients. To see if you qualify and learn more, contact the Inspire team at 508-456-9316.
