Our Doula Services Team
Our team includes dedicated providers who help our Black community have positive birth experiences and outcomes:
Cherise Hamblin, MD, Medical Director
Dr. Hamblin has more than a decade of experience as an obstetrician/gynecologist.
She leads the Doula Program, making sure you have the extra help and support you need during pregnancy and childbirth.
Dr. Hamblin is also the Director of the Underrepresented in Medicine (URIM) Community Workforce Development and Capacity Building Program for UMass Chan Medical School’s Collaborative in Health Equity. She's passionate about making sure everyone, no matter who they are, gets the best care possible. She co-founded a Diversifying Doulas Initiative through her nonprofit organization, Patients R Waiting, to help Black and Latinx birthing persons connect with doulas who can offer support, especially if they need financial help.
Dr. Hamblin's experience working with different communities and supporting minority doctors means better care for you and your neighbors here in Worcester.
Program Coordinator
Our Doula Program coordinator will be with you from start to finish to:

- Be your UMass Memorial Medical Center contact during your pregnancy, birth and the postpartum period
Doula Led Support Groups
