HealthAlliance-Clinton Hospital Earns National Cancer Accreditation

UMass Memorial Health – HealthAlliance-Clinton (HA-C) Hospital recently earned accreditation from the Commission on Cancer (CoC), a quality program of the American College of Surgeons. This prestigious accreditation recognizes the high-quality, coordinated care offered by HA-C to cancer patients throughout Central Massachusetts.  

UMass Memorial Medical Center and UMass Memorial Health – Harrington Hospital are also accredited by the CoC for their commitment to improving survival and quality of life for cancer patients.  

Established in 1922, the CoC is a consortium of professional organizations dedicated to improving survival and quality of life for patients with cancer by setting and raising standards of care. To achieve CoC accreditation, cancer programs must undergo a comprehensive review, including site visits, to confirm compliance with accreditation standards.

HealthAlliance-Clinton Hospital (HA-C) cares for cancer patients using a multidisciplinary team approach that includes surgeons, medical and radiation oncologists, diagnostic radiologists, pathologists, and other health care professionals specializing in cancer care. Cancer patients benefit from local access to a range of services and treatments including clinical trials, screenings and prevention events, palliative care, genetic counseling, rehabilitation, oncology nutrition, and survivorship services.
