Pay your bills using myChart—whether or not you have a myChart account.
- Log-in to myChart and use the menu to navigate to Billing Summary
- Pay using the myChart Guest Portal
Paperless billing makes it easy to manage your account 24/7 and helps us work toward sustainability goals by reducing our use of paper and lowering our carbon footprint.
Effective April 1, 2025, UMass Memorial Health will automatically enroll patients to receive paperless statements. But if you prefer to receive statements in the mail, you’ll be able to opt out, if you haven't already.
About paperless billing and how to change your billing preferences
Most departments are going cashless/checkless as of April 1, 2025. Payments can be made via myChart during PreCheck-In with credit or debit, or on the date of service with debit, credit, Apple Pay, or Google Pay. Our patients will experience these benefits:
- Increased Hygiene-Deters the spread of viruses and bacteria
- Smoother Service- Decreases the time at check-in/check-out
- Keeping costs down by streamlining our processes
- Elimination of payment errors and reduced risk of fraud
* Cash and checks will continue to be accepted at University and Memorial Cashier's Offices and in the Cosmetic Surgery Center. Additionally, we will continue to accept checks in the mail and at the following locations: UMass Memorial Hearing Improvement Center, Heart and Vascular Center, Orthopedics at Westborough, Hahnemann Registration, Tri River Family Health Center, and Psychiatry 100 Century Drive.
If you are unable to pay your balance in full, we offer flexible interest free payment agreements. With a myChart account, you can establish your payment agreement including the option to enroll in auto pay.
If you do not have a myChart account, call our customer service team at 800-225-8885. They can assist you with setting up a plan that best meets your needs.
If you establish a payment agreement, you are not eligible for a prompt pay discount.
If we have complete information on your health insurance coverage, we first send the bill for your care to your insurer. However, you may have received a bill from us for deductibles, copays and services not covered by your insurance. You can call your insurance company directly with questions about its coverage. The telephone number is usually on your insurance card.
Note: Your insurance company may send you an Explanation of Benefits. This document looks like a bill but actually explains what your insurance has paid for.
