Our outpatient Vein Center in Westborough provides a comfortable atmosphere where you can get a range of in-office procedures for vein problems. You can also receive vein care in Charlton and Milford for convenience. More advanced procedures are easily accessible at UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester.

Our Treatments for Vein Disorders

We offer a range of nonsurgical and minimally invasive treatments to ease uncomfortable symptoms of vein disease and reduce the risk of complications from blood clots.

Our therapies for routine vein diseases include: 

• Compression stockings: Prescription compression stockings can reduce discomfort and swelling from varicose veins and improve blood return from your legs.
• Endovenous ablation: We use a catheter (thin tube) to shrink varicose veins using heat (radiofrequency ablation) without the need for surgery.
• Microphlebectomy: Also called stab phlebectomy, this minimally invasive procedure removes superficial varicose veins through tiny cuts in your skin.
• Sclerotherapy: We inject a chemical solution (liquid or foam) into your vein. It causes mild inflammation and scarring, which seals the vein so it shrinks.  
• Vein sealing: VenaSeal uses a glue-like solution to close off bulging veins and redirect blood flow through healthy veins. 

More advanced procedures include:

• Thrombolytic therapy: We use a catheter and imaging guidance to deliver medication that breaks up blood clots if you have deep vein thrombosis.
• Vein ligation and stripping: A vascular surgeon ties off and removes damaged veins during a minimally invasive outpatient procedure.
• Vena cava filter: We may recommend an inferior vena cava (IVC) filter to catch blood clots if you are at risk of a pulmonary embolism.
• Venous angioplasty and stenting: This procedure uses a balloon to widen a blocked vein and a stent (mesh tube) to hold the vein open so blood can flow through it.
