Financial Counseling

Our financial counselors are available to talk to if you have questions about your bill or you require financial assistance. 

If you don’t have health insurance, there are several low-cost insurances available. Even if you work or have health insurance already, you and your family may be eligible for low-cost or free health plans, based on your income.

Self Pay Options

An enrollment counselor will contact patients without insurance prior to their appointment to arrange a meeting to screen for Mass Health and free care programs to cover outstanding balances and/or future hospital costs. Important: MassHealth Changes and 2027 Open Enrollment

Some MassHealth rules will change beginning January 1, 2027. These changes may affect your eligibility, renewal requirements, or health coverage options.

If you have MassHealth, be sure to:

  • Watch for notices from MassHealth (including blue envelopes)
  • Keep your contact information up to date
  • Respond promptly to any requests for information

Open Enrollment for 2027 Coverage

Open Enrollment for ConnectorCare and Health Connector plans runs from October 23, 2026, through January 23, 2027.

During Open Enrollment, you can:

  • Enroll in a health plan
  • Compare coverage options
  • Update your current plan for the coming year

Helping You Find Affordable Insurance and Pay Bills

Our Financial Counselors: 

  • Help you apply for insurance coverage
  • Explain the programs available to you, including low-cost and free options (if you qualify)
  • Fill out the paperwork
  • Help you pick your doctors
  • Help you apply for food assistance programs
  • Provide you with timely price estimates of health care services; learn more
  • Answer questions about your bill; see hospital outpatient billing notice
  • Offer assistance you may need to pay your bill online
