COVID-19 Vaccines and Boosters

As of 10-2-24

All currently approved or authorized COVID-19 vaccines are safe and effective and reduce your risk of severe illness. Vaccination can reduce the spread of disease, which helps protect those who get vaccinated and the people around them.

As of September 11, 2024, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has updated its COVID-19 vaccine recommendations. The CDC recommends Everyone ages 6 months and older should get the 2024–2025 COVID-19 vaccine. This includes people who have received a COVID-19 vaccine before and people who have had COVID-19. Getting the vaccine is an important step you can take to protect against the potentially serious outcomes of COVID-19 illness this fall and winter.

People should wait at least 8 weeks since their last COVID-19 dose and people who recently had COVID-19 may delay getting a COVID-19 vaccine for 3 months.
