Why Upload Medical Images? 

UMass Memorial offers any imaging study you may need, including X-rays, MRIs, CT scans and advanced options. But sometimes, we need information from previous studies performed outside our system to guide your care.  

Uploading these images enables our teams to: 

• Learn more about the history of the condition you are seeking services for
• Determine whether an issue is worsening
• Get the information we need to treat you while avoiding unnecessary or repeat testing 

Who Should Upload Medical Images? 

You may wish to upload images if you are:

• Seeing a UMass Memorial provider for a second opinion
• Being referred to a UMass Memorial specialist
• Receiving therapies for a condition you’ve had for a long time
• New to the Central Massachusetts area and transferring your care to our team

Send Your Imaging Studies to UMass Memorial 

Our secure image-sharing platform makes sending your studies to UMass Memorial easy and convenient. This service is available to you, authorized representatives and referring providers.

Request Your Imaging Studies

Start by contacting the institution that performed your previous imaging studies. They are required by law to share this information with you. They will likely provide the images on a CD or flash drive.

Send Imaging Studies to Us

After you have your images, send them to UMass Memorial through our partner, Nuance® PowerShare™. They host a secure portal where you can upload your information so our specialists can access it.

Visit Nuance PowerShare and follow the instructions to send us your images. This service is easy to use and available at no cost to you.
