Accredited by the Commission on Cancer (CoC) of the American College of Surgeons, UMass Memorial Health – HealthAlliance-Clinton Hospital applies a multidisciplinary approach and treats cancer as a complex group of diseases that requires consultation among surgeons, medical and radiation oncologists, diagnostic radiologists, pathologists, and other health care professionals that specialize in caring for the cancer patient.
When patients receive care at a CoC facility like ours, they can be confident in the high-quality cancer care services they receive, including access to information on clinical trials, psychosocial support, genetic counseling, a patient navigator, and survivorship care plan.
We provide more than 11,500 medical oncology treatments and more than 10,600 radiation therapy treatments a year. Through the collaboration of HealthAlliance-Clinton Hospital and UMass Memorial Medical Center, the Simonds-Sinon Regional Cancer Center delivers cancer care for the region.
This welcoming facility is staffed by board-certified medical oncologists, certified oncology nurses, hematologists, dieticians, and radiation oncologists from HealthAlliance-Clinton Hospital and UMass Memorial Medical Center.
Surgeons at HealthAlliance-Clinton Hospital also provide a wide range of surgical services for the benefit of cancer patients. When required, you also have access to more advanced treatments and clinical trials at UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester.

The Commission on Cancer (CoC) of the American College of Surgeons recently granted a three-year approval with commendation to our Cancer Center.
Approval by the CoC is given only to those facilities that have voluntarily committed to providing the highest level of quality cancer care and that undergo a rigorous evaluation process and review of their performance. Only one in four hospital-based cancer programs across the United States receive this special approval.
Our Simonds-Sinon Regional Cancer Center received the distinction of achieving the status of Community Hospital Comprehensive Cancer Program, also granted by the Commission on Cancer of the American College of Surgeons.
In collaboration with the American Cancer Society, a resource center is on-site at the Simonds-Sinon Regional Cancer Center. The first resource center in North Central Massachusetts, volunteers are available to help you and your family navigate the cancer journey.
The resource center is supplied with computers, printers, televisions, and educational materials. Patients and their families can access a variety of services and support programs by either visiting the resource center located in the Cancer Center, or by calling 978-343-5670.
The Cancer Program Practice Profile Reports (CP3R) are quality measures that encompass multiple primary cancer sites, including Breast, Colon, Rectal and Lung. UMass Memorial HealthAlliance-Clinton Hospital's Simonds-Sinon Regional Cancer Center data is derived from the National Cancer Data Base submitted by our certified tumor registry team. These reports are regularly presented to Cancer Committee to review and evaluate evidence-based patient care, discuss successful processes and identify processes where clinical improvements are required.
