Worcester health experts work to dispel myths, allay fears of vaccine among Latinos

While science was crucial to the creation of the COVID-19 vaccine, good old-fashioned trust is key to making the nationwide vaccination effort a success.

With this is mind, the UMass Medical School, in collaboration with the Worcester Department of Health and Human Services, sponsored a webinar Thursday addressing the hesitancy of people in the Latino community to take the COVID-19 vaccine.

UMass Memorial's Leominster hospital names new president

Steve Roach, the interim president of UMass Memorial HealthAlliance-Clinton Hospital, which has its main offices in Leominster, has been named to the position on a permanent basis.

Roach's appointment, which was announced Monday in a staff memo by Doug Brown, the president of UMass Memorial Community Hospitals, also keeps him as president of UMass Memorial's Marlborough Hospital, a position he's held since 2013.
