UMass Memorial Excellence in Trauma Care
National Recognition
Since 1987, the trauma center at UMass Memorial Medical Center has maintained the highest level of accreditation (Level I). This prestigious designation recognizes our commitment to exceptional care of traumatic injuries. You have access to the latest research-based methods, giving you the best chances for successful outcomes.
Rapid Access to Care
We offer nearly every possible amenity to expedite access to trauma care. UMass Memorial is home to Life Flight, the region's only air ambulance. Upon arrival, all patients benefit from highly regarded specialists who come together quickly to establish a care plan. We also have a dedicated elevator on standby for immediate access to operating suites and cardiac catheterization services.
Expertise and Research
Our team includes board-certified trauma specialists. Many doctors have training or certification in surgical critical care, trauma surgery and burn surgery. They are advancing the field through research in areas such as prevention and monitoring technologies. UMass Memorial also routinely partners with local organizations for injury prevention training to share the latest research-based techniques with first responders.
