Who Needs Emergency Psychiatric Services?

We provide mental health services for children and adults who have an immediate need for emergency psychiatric services. We treat people who voluntarily seek our services, as well as those who have a legal order for an involuntary emergency psychiatric evaluation.

You or a loved one may need emergency mental health care for:

• Anxiety and panic disorders
• Major depression
• Suicidal ideation
• Substance use disorder

Emergency Mental Health Services: What to Expect

Our EMHS care team performs a fast evaluation and initiates next steps. Emergency mental health services may include:

• Psychiatric evaluations for adults and psychiatric evaluations for children
• Coordination of services and treatments
• Referral to outpatient mental health services or our Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)
• Prescription for medications
• Hospitalization
