Pelvic Floor Dysfunction Treatment
Pelvic Floor Dysfunction Treatment: Why Choose Us
Personalized Care
We take time to explain your diagnosis and the treatments that are right for your needs. You will likely have several options to choose from, especially if you are eligible for minimally invasive urogynecologic surgery. We explain how each one works as well as the risks and benefits, then together we decide how best to proceed.
Focus on Your Safety
When you come to an experienced program such as ours, you benefit from methods that are safe and effective. We do not use transvaginal mesh, which is known for causing complications. Instead, we use proven research-based techniques that work well in the body.
Additional Options
Complex forms of pelvic floor dysfunction often involve multiple organ systems and benefit from the expertise of additional specialists. UMass Memorial is one of the few programs in the region offering seamless care. We coordinate with urologic health providers and colorectal surgeons whenever necessary so you can focus on healing.

How to Access Pelvic Floor Dysfunction Care
If you are interested in our pelvic floor dysfunction treatments, talk with your primary care provider or general obstetrician-gynecologist (OB-GYN). They perform initial assessments and will issue a referral to our urogynecologists if appropriate. This referral is necessary even if your insurance does not require it.
For Providers: Refer a Patient
UMass Memorial providers can refer patients through Epic. Assistance to community providers is available through Physician Concierge Services. You can also reach them by calling 800-431-5151 or emailing pcs@umassmemorial.org.
