Peritoneal Cancer Treatment: Why Choose Us?
Expertise
You benefit from a team dedicated to gastrointestinal cancers like peritoneal malignancies. Surgical oncologists work with gastroenterology, abdominal radiology, gastrointestinal pathology and medical oncology specialists. We work together to coordinate your care. And our nurse navigator helps guide you every step of the way.
Genetic Testing and Early Detection
Certain gene changes (mutations) passed down in families can raise your peritoneal cancer risk. We are one of the few programs in the region offering cancer genetic testing to detect these changes. If you test positive, we coordinate additional services to check for early signs of cancer, so you receive timely care.
Innovation
We are conducting basic research (lab studies) in partnership with UMass Chan Medical School. These efforts enable us to better understand how peritoneal malignancies form and grow so we can develop new therapies to stop them. We are also investigating new treatment methods that have the potential to help more people achieve excellent outcomes. Explore cancer research and clinical trials.
