HealthAlliance-Clinton Hospital Community Benefits Program

UMass Memorial HealthAlliance-Clinton Hospital is working to improve the health status of all those it serves, so they can enjoy a longer, healthier life. Through our Community Benefits Program, we address some of the social and economic obstacles that prevent you and your loved ones from attaining good health.  

Community Benefits Program at HealthAlliance-Clinton Hospital

You, or someone you know, may have taken part in a Community Benefits Program offered by HealthAlliance-Clinton Hospital. Community benefit initiatives include providing:

  • Screenings, outreach and education for residents living with or at high risk for a chronic disease, including free blood pressure screenings 
  • Community health and education programs (lectures, speakers, support groups) and screenings for target populations 
  • Community gardens at Clinton and Fitchburg Campuses 
  • On-site training, internships and mentoring for area high school and college students 
  • Scholarships for minority and vulnerable students pursuing a health-related education

Community Health Needs Assessment and Implementation

HealthAlliance-Clinton Hospital works at the local level to identify and address the health needs of residents in our communities and is socially and economically inclusive. Our priorities align with our 2024-2026 Community Health Needs Assessment. The Hospital will be working over the next few months to update our Community Benefits Strategic Implementation Plan to reflect our new priorities identified in the report. The current The current 2022-2024 Community Benefits Strategic Implementation Plan was based on the 2021 Community Health Needs Assessment.

Determination of Needs (DoN) Funding 

As of September 30, 2024, UMass Memorial Health - HealthAlliance-Clinton Hospital distributed $2,350,000 in community benefits through the Determination of Needs (DoN) funding from our emergency department capital project. These funds represent 5% of the total cost of the ED renovation as approved by the Department of Public Health January 17, 2017.  For a list of grant awards, please contact HA_contactus@healthalliance.com.
