Physical Rehabilitation Services
UMass Memorial - Marlborough Hospital Physical Rehabilitation provides comprehensive physical, occupational and speech therapy to patients of all ages.
After a thorough evaluation of your medical condition and capabilities, a treatment plan is tailored to your individual needs and goals to help you regain strength, mobility and independence.
Rehabilitiation Services are located at two locations:
- Therapy services (PT, OT, SLP) located at 340 Maple Street in Marlborough
- The Center for Sports and Physical Therapy located at 151 Main Street in Shrewsbury
Physical Therapy at Marlborough Hospital
Licensed physical therapists and physical therapy assistants use a combination of:
- Massage
- Electrotherapy
- Graduated exercises
These therapies help to restore normal health and functions and can help prevent a disability from getting worse.
Occupational Therapy
Occupational therapists use selected activities to help you reach your maximum level of function and independence in all aspects of daily life. Therapists also provide:
- Assessments of assistive devices
- Adaptations in the home
Speech Therapy
Speech therapists supervise the rehabilitation of patients who are unable to speak coherently due to congenital causes, accidents or illnesses, such as stroke. Our services include: Lee Silverman Voice Treatments for Parkinson's, language services after stroke, memory, swallowing disorders, dyslexia treatment, fluency, tongue thrust, articulation disorders and language development/expansion, among others.
