Max Rosen, MD
Chair, Department of Radiology, UMass Memorial Health; Board of Governors, UMass Memorial Medical Group
Max Rosen, MD, MPH, joined UMass Memorial Health in September 2012 as Chair of Radiology after nearly 20 years at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC) where he served in many roles, including: Abdominal and Interventional Radiologist, Vice Chair for Community Network Services, Medical Director of BeWell Body Scan and Executive Vice Chair for Radiology. Dr. Rosen is a graduate of Brown University, Tufts Medical School, and the Harvard School of Public Health, and is a fellow of the American College of Radiology, Society of Interventional Radiology, and the American Heart Association. During his time at UMass Memorial, the Radiology Department has almost doubled in size and now provides 24/7 subspecialized radiology services to sites across the UMass Memorial Health system. The clinical system’s Radiology Department also encompasses the University of Massachusetts Chan Medical School departments of Anatomy and Cell Biology into its Division of Translational Anatomy. Dr. Rosen’s current research interests involve using eye-tracking to better understand why Radiologists may miss a finding on imaging and using natural language processing (NLP) to improve the accurate communication of findings in the Radiology report.
