UMass Memorial Health and UMass Chan Medical School provide residents in all generalist and specialist programs, and advanced practice providers, opportunities for supervised experiences in both tertiary and community practice. In addition, UMass Memorial Medical Center serves as the region’s comprehensive provider of emergency services. The University Campus is home to the region’s only Level I Trauma Center for both adults and children and to Life Flight, the region’s air ambulance.
The Children’s Medical Center offers specialists in every pediatric health field from cardiology to surgery and includes the region’s only Level III Newborn Intensive Care Unit on the Memorial Campus and a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit on the University Campus.
A Critical Care Fellow is offered to Advanced Practice Providers. This is an exceptional learning and working opportunity with a 12-month clinical post-graduate Affiliate Practitioner (AP) Residency Program in Critical Care at UMass Memorial Medical Center for highly motivated new graduates or experienced physician assistants (PAs) or acute care nurse practitioners (NPs) seeking a career in critical care medicine.
