The Adult Outpatient Services at UMass Memorial Health – Harrington offer a range of therapy services and psychiatry to meet your needs. We can help with everything from stress management to treatment for a mental health disorder.

Individual Therapy

If you or a loved one has thoughts, emotions or situations that cause stress or impact your day-to-day functioning, individual therapy can help. Many people find that therapy sessions give them the tools to manage stress, helping them create major positive changes in their lives. Individual therapy is also available for people with chronic, persistent mental illness.

Couples Therapy

Relationships can be difficult to manage, particularly when individual stressors impact one or both partners. That stress, combined with relational stress, can quickly become overwhelming. Couples therapy allows you and your loved one to work with a qualified therapist to get to the root of the problem and help strengthen your relationship.

Family Therapy

This therapy brings families together to discuss issues and concerns in a safe and supportive environment. The goal is to foster progress and communication.

Group Therapy

Sometimes, you may feel like no one understands your situation. Group therapy can be helpful because you connect with people facing similar challenges. We offer a variety of therapist-facilitated groups, including a men’s group, women’s group and other diagnosis-specific group services.

Psychiatric Evaluations for Medication Assistance

Medications can help address emotional or behavioral problems, but it’s not always easy to decide to start one of those medications. You or your loved one’s therapist can help determine whether medication is a good option. If it is, they can provide a referral to connect you with a psychiatric provider.

Medication Management

If you are prescribed a medication, you continue to meet with a licensed psychiatrist or nurse practitioner who regularly monitors your medication and dosage.
