Why Choose Us for Lung Cancer Treatment?
Team Approach
UMass Memorial is one of the few programs in the region using a team approach to lung cancer treatment. Pulmonologists, thoracic surgeons and chest imaging specialists work alongside medical oncologists, radiation oncologists and additional providers. Many patients meet with multiple experts in a single visit, making it easier to tailor services to your needs.
Supportive Care
You don’t have to face lung and thoracic cancers alone. Our team provides emotional support and other services that make life a little easier during treatment. Palliative medicine doctors help you get relief from nagging symptoms and assist you in making important care decisions. This is one of the many types of cancer resources and support we offer.
Leadership and Research
Our program was one of the first in the country to offer robotic thoracic surgery, an advanced method of removing lung cancers. Experts use robotic surgical technologies to deliver precise care that spares more healthy tissue. These advancements are part of our collaboration with the UMass Chan Medical School, helping you benefit from the latest research and clinical trials.
