Eating Disorder Clinic Services

Each person’s eating disorder recovery is different. We pay careful attention to each patient’s personal history and treatment goals so we can tailor services to their needs. At each visit, we listen intently as patients share progress and challenges so we can refine care plans as necessary.

Evaluations

We perform a thorough evaluation to determine the eating disorder type and severity. Services typically include a physical exam, mental health screening and labs. We also discuss current eating patterns, body image and treatment goals. This information helps us coordinate the next steps of care plan. 

Nutrition Guidance

If patients aren’t already working with a nutritionist, they can receive these services from our Children’s Medical Center. Our eating disorder nutritionist develops personalized eating plans that help optimize nutrient intake. Services also include education about the importance of nutrition and tips for establishing healthier eating habits.

Referrals to Community-Based Providers

For more intensive treatment, we may refer patients to community-based services. Our team has established relationships with local nutritionists, therapists and eating disorder treatment centers. 

Ongoing Monitoring

Regular check-ups help us monitor our patient’s physical and mental well-being during treatment. Visits may involve a physical exam, labs, discussion of current eating patterns and checking for signs of complications, like heart or bone issues. Monitoring lasts as long as necessary to help lower the risk of relapse.
