Our child-centered care helps our young patients feel as comfortable as possible during treatment. We work to help them feel more confident about their bodies and understand how they work.

Pediatric and adolescent gynecologists specialize in conditions affecting the vulva, vagina, cervix, uterus, fallopian tubes and ovaries of people who are 18 and younger. They have in-depth knowledge of the unique ways these issues impact pediatric patients and how to treat them.

Our experts use child-focused techniques to discuss symptoms and diagnoses in ways that put patients and their families at ease. Services are available at UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester and Northborough Crossing. If your child is seeing providers in other locations, we collaborate to ensure a seamless experience.

Your Child’s First Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology Visit: What to Expect

Our clinics are safe, comfortable environments for discussing gynecologic concerns and their impact on your child’s physical and mental well-being. Pediatric and adolescent gynecologists start by getting to know your child and how the issue affects them.

Initial assessments can take place with or without a patient’s parent or guardian present, depending on preferences. This approach helps us build a trusting relationship where open and honest discussions can take place.

We can evaluate many issues without a physical or pelvic exam. If these exams are necessary, we explain what to expect and answer all your child’s questions before proceeding.
