The Lown Institute has a different methodology that looks at metrics such as civic leadership, which includes pay equity, community benefits and inclusivity; value, which includes avoidance of procedures with limited clinical utility; and the metrics we usually see in rankings, such as mortality, readmission and patient safety metrics. |

Ranked 6th in Massachusetts by US News and World Report as Best Regional Hospital and High Performing in colon cancer surgery, aortic valve surgery, heart bypass surgery and heart failure. To be ranked, the Medical Center had to meet strict guidelines and pass an extensive review of objective measures such as risk-adjusted survival and readmission rates, volume, patient safety and quality of nursing. |

Our Medical Center has been named to Newsweek’s list of the World’s Best Hospitals 2020. According to Newsweek, hospitals were selected for the list based on recommendations from medical professionals, patient survey results and clinical performance indicators. |
