The BEE nomination is for someone who clinically supports nursing staff as well as our patients and exemplifies our Standards of Respect. BEEs are role models of accountability, collaboration and teamwork who make a difference in the lives of patients/families, employees and our community every day. The also demonstrate the qualities of our CARES Values listed below:
The DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses was created by the DAISY Foundation. Nurses every day go above and beyond to not only provide patients and families with excellence in clinical care but also compassion. In partnership with the DAISY foundation, we aim to honor them by showing our profound gratitude for all that they do. The DAISY Award is a recognition program to celebrate and recognize extraordinary nurses by collecting nominations from patients, families, and co-workers.
The DAISY Team Award is designed to honor collaboration by two or more people, led by a nurse, who identify and meet patient and/or patient family needs by going above and beyond the traditional role of Nursing.
The DAISY Nurse Leader Award was created to shine a light on those who do not typically have direct patient care as part of their work as well as those who create an environment where compassionate, skillful care thrives. This award is used to recognize nurse managers, directors, assistant managers, charge nurses, Educators, chief nursing officers, preceptors, informatics nurses and patient flow nurses.
The DAISY Nurse Educator Award was created to honor the extraordinary work Nurse Educators do in improving practice and advancing patient care through teaching, precepting, and mentoring. These nurses model a love of learning and is committed to lifelong learning and professional development as well as those who create an environment where compassionate, skillful care thrives.
The Josie King Hero Award was created by the Josie King Foundation to be given to an individual who makes a significant impact on creating a culture of safety. This award is for those who set an example for others every day and who inspire positive change. Specifically, this award recognizes those who:
The Patient Experience Award recognizes compassionate individuals and teams who uphold the highest ideals of respect and dignity in their interactions with patients and families. They go above and beyond to empower and educate patients and families, prioritizing and supporting their unique needs, values and preferences. Patient Experience champions embody our Standards of Respect: interacting with patients, families, and fellow caregivers by being kind, acknowledging what’s important to others, listening carefully, communicating appropriately, being responsive, and being a team player.
The PHIL (Pulmonary Health and Illnesses of the Lungs) Award was established by The FACES Foundation to recognize outstanding respiratory therapists who provide care and treatment for patients with respiratory illnesses. It will be awarded annually to one respiratory therapist who has been nominated on the basis of professional excellence and compassion in the education and care of patients with pulmonary disease.
This award is intended to encourage, recognize and reward teams who exhibit qualities and/or act to prevent harm from reaching our patients and employees. These teams support and strengthen the culture of safety at our Medical Center.
