The "National Recovery Month" event will feature family-friendly activities, education on addiction recovery,
and tips on improving mental health.
[Worcester, MA, August 31, 2022] – UMass Memorial Health -- Community Healthlink (CHL) will host its first-ever Block Party on Saturday, September 10, 2022, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 72 Jaques Ave., Worcester, MA. The event will feature fun for the family while providing valuable information about addiction recovery and the importance of mental health. Activities include a petting zoo, bounce house, and music.
"September is National Recovery Month," said Sarah Ballard, senior director, in CHL Substance Use Disorder division. "The Block Party is an effective way to educate our neighbors about the services we provide to help people overcome addictions while removing stigma associated with substance use disorders. It's also a great way to share information about many of our other mental and behavioral health programs."
In addition to the family-friendly activities, CHL expects local elected officials, including Worcester Mayor Petty and State Representative LeBeouf, to make formal remarks about National Recovery Month at 11:30 a.m.
The event is free and open to all ages.
